I installed the Bison Gear OX Pro MOLLE panels on my four door Ford Bronco, and they have completely changed both the look and functionality of the truck. Visually, they have a very unique design that immediately sets the Bronco apart from others on the road and at events. They are not generic flat panels. The design has depth and character, and it makes the build look intentional.
From a construction standpoint, they are lightweight but feel solid. The material quality is high, the finish is consistent, and the hardware supplied is strong and well thought out. Once mounted, the panels feel secure with no rattling or flex.
Where they really shine is versatility. The MOLLE pattern gives me a lot of flexibility for mounting gear in different configurations depending on the trip. Right now I am running Scepter five gallon water and fuel jug mounts on the panels, and it has been a huge benefit. Moving those jugs outside frees up valuable cargo space inside the Bronco for other gear, which makes packing and organization much easier.
They combine aesthetics with real functionality. They look different, they are built well, and they add practical storage options without cluttering the interior. For my four door setup, they have been a smart and functional upgrade.
I added the Bison Gear roof rack grab handle to my OX Pro setup, and it has proven to be a very practical addition. It gives me a solid, secure point to grab when climbing up to access the roof rack, especially when I am loading or adjusting cargo. Having something stable to hold onto makes a noticeable difference in safety and confidence when you are working up there.
The handle feels strong and well anchored once installed. There is no flex or looseness, and it integrates cleanly with the rack without looking like an afterthought. Functionally, it does exactly what it should do, providing leverage and stability when getting up to manage gear.
From an aesthetic standpoint, it is a clean addition to the rack. The only thing I would have done differently is order it in black instead of gray to better match the rest of my setup. Other than that, it is an excellent and well built piece of hardware that adds real usability to the rack.
I added the Bison Gear Sparrow dimmable dome light to my OX Pro roof rack, and it has been a genuinely useful upgrade. The install was straightforward and clean, mounting directly to the rack without the need for custom brackets or fabrication.
The functionality is where it stands out. The light is fully dimmable, which lets me fine tune the brightness depending on what I am doing, whether that is working out of the back of the truck or just setting up camp. It also offers three different color options, which is more useful than it sounds. Being able to change the color helps manage glare at night and keeps the lighting comfortable without washing everything out.
The light output is even and controlled, providing usable illumination without being harsh. It integrates cleanly with the rack and looks like it belongs there rather than something added after the fact. It is a simple piece of gear, but it does exactly what it is supposed to do and does it well.
I recently switched to the Bison Gear Quick Release Awning Mount after previously running my Overland Vehicle Systems 270-degree awning on a fixed bracket setup, and the difference in usability has been significant.
With the fixed brackets, once the awning was on the truck, it was basically staying there. Removing it was a project. The quick release system completely changed that. Now I can pull the awning off quickly and cleanly without fighting hardware or realigning brackets. For someone like me who doesn’t run an awning on every trip, that flexibility is a big advantage.
Another benefit I didn’t fully appreciate until after the switch was weight management. Being able to remove the awning easily means I can lighten the load on the truck for day trips or trail runs where shade isn’t necessary. That helps keep things simpler and reduces unnecessary weight up high, which I’m always mindful of in my build.
The one thing I will point out: the larger 270-degree awning from Overland Vehicle Systems is on the heavier side. It works with the Bison brackets, but it’s pushing the limits of what I’d consider ideal for long-term use on just two mounting points. My recommendation would be to run a third bracket for additional support, or consider pairing the quick release mounts with a slightly lighter awning if you want the cleanest setup.
Overall, if you’re looking for convenience, modularity, and the ability to remove your awning without turning it into a full garage project, the Bison Gear Quick Release Awning Mount is a smart upgrade.
I’ve been running the Bison Gear Jerry Can Mount on my Bronco, and it’s one of those pieces of gear that just works exactly the way it should. I carry two 5-gallon Scepter jugs regularly, and the mount locks them down tight with zero wobble or movement. Once everything is secured, it feels planted and confidence-inspiring, which matters when you’re carrying that much fuel externally.
What I really appreciate is the versatility. It’s not limited to just one style of container. In addition to the Scepter plastic cans, it also does an excellent job holding traditional 5-gallon military-style metal fuel cans. The bracket design accommodates both styles without feeling like a compromise for either. Fitment is snug, and the structure itself is solid with no flexing or thin material that makes you second-guess it under load.
Another big plus is security is the mount clamps down tight on the cans, and it includes a provision to add a padlock so you can secure your fuel and gear when the vehicle is parked. That added layer of protection is important when you’re traveling or leaving the vehicle unattended at trailheads or campsites.
For anyone building a functional overland setup and needing reliable external fuel storage. Especially if you’re running two 5-gallon cans like I am, this is a solid, no-drama solution. It holds tight, stays quiet, and gives you both stability and security on and off the trail.
I’ve installed and run a lot of gear on my Bronco, and the Bison Gear OX Pro Roof Rack is one of the most solid, purpose-built systems I’ve bolted onto the truck. Right out of the box, the build quality stood out. It’s uniquely designed and just as stout, with solid hardware, heavy-duty brackets, and a high quality and consistent powder coat finish. Nothing about it feels thin or cosmetic. Once installed, it feels like a structural extension of the Bronco rather than something just sitting on top of it.
The install took me a few hours taking my time, and it’s fully bolt-on with no drilling or cutting required, which I appreciated. Having a second set of hands definitely helps when lining everything up, but once torqued down, it’s rock solid. I’ve run racks before that creak or shift slightly on uneven terrain and this one doesn’t. On the road, you’ll get some wind noise like you would with any full-length modular rack, but with the fairing it’s very manageable. I haven’t experienced rattling, vibration, or any strange handling issues, even in crosswinds.
Where the OX Pro really earns its keep is on the trail. Loaded with gear, boards, tools, and lights it stays planted with no flex or movement. While I didn't build my Bronco for looks, Bison Gear's rack has one of the best and unique looks on the market. I use it and this rack handles that kind of use without making me second-guess it. The modular mounting points make it easy to change configurations without turning it into a fabrication project, which is a big plus for someone who’s constantly tweaking their setup. For my build which focuses on functionality, the OX Pro absolutely delivers. It’s not the cheapest rack out there, but I've found largely that you get what you pay for. You can easily where the money went, and for long trips, I can now trust my rack without hesitation.
perfect for my Grenadier
Excellent Fitment and installation was straightforward for the 4Runner 5th Gen.
The Molle panel is pretty sturdy. Installation instructions were easy to follow. Installation was pretty quick and fitment was right on.
Excellent service again from Bison gear. The fit and finish far exceeds the quality of others from popular online sites, I should know I’ve compared to a friends who ordered from elsewhere and there’s no comparison! Also combines perfectly with the roof storage shelf. Very fast tracked shipping as well so I’m a very satisfied customer. Only wish they would add a fold down table for the jimny rear door so I wouldn’t have to deal with any other company 😜
Fast shipping, perfectly packed, great and sturdy set.
Thank you Bison Gear for that gear !
Perfect fit
thanks guys, quick and easy transaction!
