Works Perfectly with an Eezi Awn Awning

This quick-release awning mount is great quality. I wanted an awning mount that would add minimal height to the top of the roof rack, as height clearance is essential in order for my SUV to fit into parking garages and low clearance buildings.

Size L Type A works perfectly with an Eezi Awn Swift freestanding awning. The top of the mount adds less than an inch of height to the top of the roof rack.

I see people complaining about mounting hardware not being included, but my order came with T-slot bolts and flanged nuts, however mounting hardware is totally dependent on your roof rack and awning. I used M8 bolts purchased from the local hardware, and it was a straightforward install.

I had my order shipped to California, USA, and shipping was very quick.

Bison Gear Quick Release Awning Mount — Easy Removal & Smarter Weight Management

I recently switched to the Bison Gear Quick Release Awning Mount after previously running my Overland Vehicle Systems 270-degree awning on a fixed bracket setup, and the difference in usability has been significant.

With the fixed brackets, once the awning was on the truck, it was basically staying there. Removing it was a project. The quick release system completely changed that. Now I can pull the awning off quickly and cleanly without fighting hardware or realigning brackets. For someone like me who doesn’t run an awning on every trip, that flexibility is a big advantage.

Another benefit I didn’t fully appreciate until after the switch was weight management. Being able to remove the awning easily means I can lighten the load on the truck for day trips or trail runs where shade isn’t necessary. That helps keep things simpler and reduces unnecessary weight up high, which I’m always mindful of in my build.

The one thing I will point out: the larger 270-degree awning from Overland Vehicle Systems is on the heavier side. It works with the Bison brackets, but it’s pushing the limits of what I’d consider ideal for long-term use on just two mounting points. My recommendation would be to run a third bracket for additional support, or consider pairing the quick release mounts with a slightly lighter awning if you want the cleanest setup.

Overall, if you’re looking for convenience, modularity, and the ability to remove your awning without turning it into a full garage project, the Bison Gear Quick Release Awning Mount is a smart upgrade.
