Rear door kitchen table β convenient outdoor cooking
Cooking during an expedition requires good organization. You need space for groceries, dishes, a stove, a board, mugs, and small accessories. You can't always set up a classic camping table. A tailgate-mounted table solves this issue because it provides a ready work surface as soon as you open the rear doors. You can prep breakfast on it, chop vegetables, make coffee, set down kitchen accessories, or use the counter as a handy prep station next to your travel fridge.
Drop-down table with a slide-out cutting board
In selected Bison Gear models, the table features an additional slide-out board that increases the work area and makes meal prep easier. Part of the counter is used to hold dishes or equipment, while the other is used for chopping and preparing ingredients.
The slide-out board can be used while cooking, but it's also handy outside the kitchen. You can rest small tools, photography gear, a map, your phone, gloves, or any equipment you want to keep close by on it. Thanks to this, the tailgate cooking table becomes both a field kitchen and a versatile counter.
MOLLE system β organizing kitchen and expedition accessories
Our tables feature an integrated MOLLE system that allows you to better organize the space near your vehicle's rear doors. You can attach small accessories, bags, mounts, gloves, a flashlight, kitchen utensils, or gear that should be immediately accessible upon opening the trunk. Instead of pulling everything out of boxes and digging for small items in the back, you can create a functional kitchen zone right at the tailgate.
You can use the cooking table as a place to brew coffee, set down tools, prepare camera gear, work on a laptop, sort accessories, or organize your trunk before hitting the road again. Once you open the rear door, you have a ready work zone that requires no extra table setup. When you're done cooking or working, simply fold the counter, close the trunk, and move on.
FAQ β Tailgate cooking tables
Does the Bison Gear table have a cutting board?
Selected Bison Gear tables feature a slide-out board that increases the work surface and can be used for preparing ingredients. The board can be used while cooking, but also acts as an extra shelf for small accessories.
Does a cooking table take up space in the trunk?
It doesn't take up typical cargo room because it is mounted on the rear door of the car. When folded, it stays flat against the door, and when unfolded, it provides an extra work counter by the vehicle.
How much weight can the tailgate table hold?
In selected Bison Gear models, the maximum load capacity is up to 20 kg. This allows you to use the table for cooking, laptop work, or holding dishes, tools, and other accessories needed during your trip.
