By default, the rear axel differential breather is located directly on the axel itself; this means it's under the water during a river crossing or even in deep puddles.  

Moreover, the factory diff breather is often clogged and not functioning; when the diff is hot, air can't escape through the breather, and build-up pressure might cause the axel seal to fail. 

When the hot differential is rapidly cooled, it might also suck water through axles seals. 

The breather relocation kit is a cheap and easy upgrade that keeps your rig safe. 

After installation, your breather vents are over 43 inches from the ground vs. the factory rear axle 12 inches.
