If you’re wondering how the OX PRO BOAR Heater Box works, what you can power it with, whether it can survive overnight rain, or if it might wake up the entire camp - below you’ll find clear and detailed answers to the most common questions from our community.
1. Can it be powered by a power bank?
The OX PRO BOAR Heater Box is designed for demanding outdoor conditions. To operate correctly, it requires a 12V power source capable of delivering up to 15A peak current during startup.
In theory:
If your power bank can provide a stable 12V output and handle a 15A peak, the heater will work without issues.
In practice:
Most power banks are not capable of delivering that level of current. That’s why dedicated 12V batteries or LiFePO4 battery systems are the most commonly used power sources.
2. What is the heating output?
The OX PRO BOAR Heater Box delivers 2 kW of heating power, which is enough to heat a rooftop tent, off-road vehicle, trailer, or even a small cabin or workshop.
Despite its compact size, it can raise the temperature by several dozen degrees - even in harsh conditions.
3. What heating unit is inside?
Inside the BOAR Heater Box is the Autoterm Air 2D, a European-made heater known for its reliability.
It’s a compact 2.0 kW diesel heater, operating on 12V.
The kit includes a 5-liter fuel tank, making the system efficient, long-lasting, and ready for many hours of continuous operation.
4. Do you offer a gasoline version (E95 or E85)?
At the moment, only the diesel version is available.
5. How much does the unit weigh?
The heating unit itself weighs approximately 14 kg (without a battery).
Additional weight depends on the battery used as the power source.
6. Are the heating systems available in the United States?
Yes, we ship to the USA.
While we don’t operate a physical retail store in the United States, international shipping works smoothly.
7. How long is the controller cable? Is Bluetooth available?
The standard controller cable length is 3 meters.
At this time, there is no Bluetooth option available.
8. Is the unit waterproof? Can I leave it on a MOLLE panel in the rain?
The OX PRO BOAR Heater Box has an IPX6 rating, which means:
✔️ resistant to heavy rain
✔️ resistant to pressure washing
❌ not fully waterproof (do not submerge)
You can safely leave it outside - including on a MOLLE panel - as long as it doesn’t become part of an “let’s drop it into a stream” experiment.
9. Is the heater noisy?
The OX PRO BOAR Heater Box is one of the quietest heaters on the market.
The European heating unit and high-quality components significantly reduce noise, and the quiet fuel pump eliminates the typical ticking sound.
In real-world use:
You mainly hear a soft fan hum.
Noise levels:
• Low power: ~56 dB
• Maximum power: ~67 dB

10. Can I buy the MOLLE Quick release separately?
At the moment, the MOLLE Quick release is only available as part of the complete kit.
